Aqueous solutions of pyrimidine nucleic acid bases . Solute – solvent interactions
The data previously reported on the enthalpy of hydration, partial molar volumes and heat capacities of alkylated pyrimidine nucleic acid bases, e.g. uracil, thymine and cytosine, were correlated with the following structural parameters: molecular volume, volume of solvation shell, accessible molecular surface area and its atomic partition as well as and electrostatic potential charge. The simp...
متن کاملSolute–solvent interaction dynamics studied by photon echo spectroscopies in polymer glasses
The influence of coupling strength and temperature on the solute–solvent interaction of two chromophores in polymer glass is reported. The three-pulse photon echo peak shift method was used to study the dye IR144 in polyvinylformal ͑PVF͒ and the dye DTTCI ͑3,3Ј-di-ethylthiatricarbocyanine iodide͒ in polymethylmethacrylate ͑PMMA͒. IR144 is more strongly coupled ͑larger reorganization energy͒ to both its...
متن کاملAlbendazole Solubilization in Aqueous Solutions of Nicotinamide: Thermodynamics and Solute Solvent Interactions
The present study deals with experiments so as to highlight the solute (drug albendazole) – solvent ( water) interactions and related thermodynamic modifications in presence of the hydrotropic agent nicotinamide at different temperatures T (= 298.15 to 313.15)K. Density and conductivity values of albendazole have been determined in water in (0.08 to 0.98) mol dm-3 aqueous solutions of nicotinam...
متن کاملMode interaction in multi-mode optical fibers with Kerr effect
The coupled nonlinear Schrödinger equations (CNLS) which describe two linearly polarized modes interaction (with taken into account the polarization modes interaction) in the Kerr medium is derived. We take first two modes for cylindrical fiber which are also known as HE11 and TE01 modes which have different propagation constant. This approach bases on projection to orthogonal function basis (B...
متن کاملPolarization mode interaction equations in optical fibers with Kerr effect
We derive coupled nonlinear Schrödinger equation (CNLSE) for arbitrary polarized light propagation in single-mode fiber. Considering a weak nonlinearity which is connected with Kerr effect, we give explicit expressions for nonlinear constants via integrals of Bessel functions. The method of projecting we use allows a direct generalization to multi-mode fiber case.
